James, Jesus' half-brother

I'm doing this study on James, led by Beth Moore, at the church I'm going to up in Fredericton.  This week I got the feeling God was going to do something in my heart through this study.  I hope I'm ready.

**edit**

I was challenged today to look at my trial (I have it in mind) and picture where I'll be in 5 years if I try to solve that problem MY way.  THEN picture that problem and where I'll be with it if I try to solve in God's way (according to James 1:2)...way better.

Jesus, strengthen me!

Joy

Today I feel down, gloomy, depressed, bleeeeh.

However, I'm taking joy in the fact that I am blessed and loved despite how I feel.

No matter how I feel, I...

  • am loved and cherished by my Creator
  • have an amazing, loving, incredible husband whose country I'm currently in!
  • have an amazing family who is always looking out for me.
  • am blessed and encouraged by fall and all that it brings - hoodies, cool breezes, beautiful colors, warm drinks, football ;)
  • am getting involved in an awesome women's study of James...can't wait to see how it changes me!
Huh...I feel better already.

Thankful.

Thanks be to God for a safe border crossing into Canada earlier this month!  I cried when I got through out of complete thankfulness to him!

Back into the swing of things with Grant.  I love being with him.  Yes there are frustrations, irritations, etc. But he's amazing.  I laugh more around him than anyone else.  He earnestly wants to lead us closer to Christ. He's scared about moving, but remains firm on the fact that God is behind our going.  He supports me and loves me and looks out for my needs no matter what.  How blessed am I?

Trust

God has been teaching me to trust Him.  I know we're supposed to all the time, but He's forcing my hand by not giving me any other options!

May I emerge from this trial a purer gold than the last fire...ready for the next one!

I attempt to go see Grant next week.  This 'plan' could be easily thwarted by one border guard having a bad day.  Praying God changes the hearts of those I meet along the way.

The end of October is Grant's interview.  Praying we find favor with our interviewer and my husband and I can be together in the same country!

Trusting God, no matter the outcome that He has everything under control.  He knows my heart.
